La desnudista Carol Doda, quien fue pionera en el entretenimiento a torso desnudo hace más de 50 años, falleció a los 78 años.

Ron Minolla, un amigo de Doda, confirmó que la stripper murió el lunes en San Francisco debido a complicaciones relacionadas con una falla renal.

Doda apareció topless en el Condor Club en 1964 y rápidamente cambió el panorama de la vida nocturna de Broadway. Dejó el club en 1985 y después se hizo propietaria de una tienda de lencería.

La mujer, conocida por sus senos aumentados, aparecía en el escenario encima de un piano en la plataforma de un elevador. Debutó el mismo día en que el presidente Lyndon B. Johnson atrajo una multitud de medio millón de personas durante una visita a San Francisco.

No pasó demasiado tiempo antes de que “La chica del piano” fuera la gran novedad en la ciudad.

Legendary San Francisco stripper Carol Doda, whose splashy act helped introduce topless entertainment to the city more than 50 years ago, has died at the age of 78.

Doda passed away on Monday from complications caused by kidney failure, friend Ron Minolla disclosed Wednesday.

Doda first went topless in 1964 at the Condor Club – a move that changed every nightspot on busy Broadway in San Francisco.
